About

Data Nerd. Union steward. Community organizer. New mom. Board game geek.

I’ve used all of those terms to describe myself.

For the past years, I’ve worked for the State of Washington in the Department of Health. As an epidemiologist, I’ve been able to work on data analysis and evaluation for food programs like WIC and SNAP-Ed, screening programs like the Breast, Cervical and Colon Health Program and WISEWOMAN, and in maternal and child safety with our state’s fatality review programs.

My work has shown me how hard so many people work to feed their kids, stay on top of their health concerns, do whats right for their bodies and minds, all while struggling to keep a roof over their heads and hold down a job.

My spouse and I moved to Auburn in 2020, looking for a home located between his job at Valley Medical Center in Renton, and mine with the state in Olympia. We were lucky to be able to put a down payment a house right before prices sky-rocketed and made it impossible for many working people and families to afford a home, even if they’d spent their whole lives working and saving for that quintessential American dream.

Auburn is a place that I hope to call home for many years ahead. Its where my spouse and I will be raising our daughter, building our community, and hopefully retiring many decades down the road. I want to make sure I do everything in my power to make this city one where my baby girl will be given every opportunity to grow and thrive, where my neighbors, new and old, can work and play, and where all our residents can engage with each other.
